Gudetama, the lazy egg, is getting its own Netflix series

Japanese cartoon character Gudetama, also known as the "lazy egg," is heading to Netflix later this year with its own series!

Netflix initially released the teaser on social media Sunday, saying the "world's favorite lazy egg comes to life in a brand new adventure."

The 30-second video starts with shot of a basket of eggs. One of them starts cracking open, its egg whites and egg yolk lazily forming to look like the perenially tired Gudetama. 

"What a drag," the famous Sanrio character said in the teaser.

According to Netflix, "Gudetama: An Eggcellent Adventure" is a "hybrid of live-action and CG animation." It follows the story of a lethargic egg that despises any activity that involves movement.

Now, how will the adventure be if Gudetama doesn't want to move? That's definitely something worth waiting for! — LA, GMA News
