Ever heard of high heels dance workout? Yes, it exists
If you think a pair of heels is just mere accessories to complete your OOTD, you're wrong. As much as it sounds complicated and uncomfortable at first, studies show that high heels workouts have a lot of benefits once you get the hang of it.
Take it from "Sex and the City" actress Sarah Jessica Parker, who works out her legs and core while wearing beautiful printed and red stilettos.
In an "Unang Hirit" episode on Monday, fitness instructor Aya Takahasi, who has been teaching high heels dance workouts for nine years, showed some basic moves if you want to start incorporating high heels into your workout routine.
But what type of heels can you use to practice this workout safely and effectively?
"For beginners, three-inch heels are ideal. For professionals, four to 4.5-inch is possible," Takahashi answered.
Research shows that working out in high heels strengthens pelvic and abdominal muscles. Because of the heels' elevated angle, most women tend to lean forward, which tightens the abdominal muscles and improves the core.
