EXO’s Suho says ‘Grey Suit’ contains thoughts he wants to share with fans
On his latest comeback, EXO’s Suho said he wanted to share his honest thoughts and stories to fans through his second mini album “Grey Suit.”
During an online press conference for the release, the K-Pop artist said he made sure he had a hand on the album’s concept and lyrics.
“I worked on this album with the theme of ‘time,’” Suho said.
“I was inspired by a novel called ‘Momo’ by Michael Ende, which I read while in military service. It made me realize the importance of time,” he added.
“I spent a lot of time thinking about what stories I could share that my fans can relate to and would like to hear,” he said. “[It] contains a lot of my color, the things I wanted to say while waiting to return.”
For the title track for instance, Suho said it’s a song that “contains the thoughts I really want to express.”
“[‘Grey Suit’] compares emotions that become colorful through the empty grey time, to light and color. There’s a part where the high notes in the chorus go up and lead to the climax,” he said.
“In that part, I take off my grey suit and express the feeling of becoming more colorful—from my fingertips to my toes,” he added.
“Grey Suit” features the songs “Morning Star,” “Hurdle,” “Decanting,” “Bear Hug,” and “Moment.” It follows “Self-Portrait,” which marks his solo debut in 2020. – RC, GMA News
