SB19 on the upcoming PPOPCON: ‘Buhay na buhay ang pusong Pinoy sa’min’
The biggest names in Pinoy Pop music gathered on Wednesday to share details on the much-anticipated PPOPCON happening April 9-10 at New Frontier Theater and Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
With the continuous rise of PPOP groups not just in the Philippines but worldwide, Pablo of SB19 is enthusiastic that PPOPCON will further push the envelope for PPOP on the international stage.
“Ang grupo namin we are really happy. Nung nagsisimula pa lang kami, wala kaming friends. Now we have everyone here,” Pablo said during the hybrid press conference at Novotel Manila Araneta City.
“And I believe there are strength in numbers. Someday maitatalaga na talaga or magkakaroon na talaga ng PPOP as a genre na makikilala all over the world,” he added.
SB19 also agreed that PPOPCON would help unite all PPOP's fanbases.
“No matter what happens, kaming mga grupo dito, magkakaibigan kami. We share one heart. Buhay na buhay ang pusong Pinoy sa’min. And our fans do have that as well. Hindi malabo talaga na makilala ’yung kultura ng Pilipino sa buong mundo,” said Pablo.
To which 1st.One agreed. “Lagi nating sinasabi ‘P-pop rise,’ but P-pop groups can only do so much. Fans talaga ang ultimate weapon, ang instruments para talagang mag-‘P-pop rise,’” they said.
Joining SB19 physically during the conference were 4th Impact, Alamat, Press Hit Play, 1st.One, and VXON, who all shared their preparations and thoughts as the country’s first and most prominent collaboration of highly anticipated PPOP acts drew near.
MNL48, BGYO, BINI, KAIA, PPOP Generation, DAYDREAM, R Rules, G22, Dione, and Calista also joined the presser virtually via Zoom, and they all shared their excitement for the return of live music entertainment at the Big Dome.
Apart from the media conference, 2022 PPOPCON kicked off with a series of live-ticket selling events, mall shows, artist activities, and Wish Bus performances that further ignited the excitement of the PPOP community.
2022 PPOPCON tickets are now available at Ticketnet and KTX. – RC, GMA News
