Here's a first look at Tom Hanks in Disney's live-action remake of 'Pinocchio'

Disney just unveiled a first look at Tom Hanks in its upcoming live-action remake of  "Pinocchio."

Hanks will be playing Geppetto, Pinocchio's creator.

In the photo still shared on Disney+'s Twitter, the actor could be seen with gray-white hair and a mustache, admiring his puppet.

"Pinocchio," is based on the 1940 animated Disney film of the same name, which adapted the classic children’s novel “The Adventures of Pinocchio" by Carlo Collodi. The story follows a wooden puppet brought to life, who then goes on an adventure to become a real boy.

The live-action remake will be premiering on Disney+ this September.

It's not the only film about "Pinocchio" that is releasing this year. Netflix is producing a stop-motion musical film directed by Guillermo del Toro, while Lionsgate is set to launch a humorous take on the classic tale. —JCB, GMA News
