BTS Lego set to be based on ‘Dynamite’

Heads up, ARMY! BTS’ “Dynamite” is officially coming in the form of a Lego brick set.

On Tuesday, the Danish toymaker announced that the model made by Josh Bretz aka JBBrickFanatic and Jacob aka BangtanBricks had been selected to go into production.

The fan model submitted by Josh and Jacob to LEGO Ideas showed the group’s seven members in their outfits from the “Dynamite” music video. It also featured the iconic “Disco” background.

“We’re absolutely excited to bring BTS, one of the most popular and influential bands to life in Lego bricks through one of their biggest hits—‘Dynamite,’” read an entry on Lego Ideas blog.

“The South Korean band has changed the landscape of pop music and transitioned into a global phenomenon with their fun, authentic music, top-notch performances and positive messages,” it added.

In a previous interview, Josh and Jacob said they came up with the idea out of their love for music.

“Apart from building with LEGO bricks 24/7, I love playing instruments and listening to music,” Josh said. “The BTS ‘Dynamite’ music video is just so iconic,” he added.

“I’ve wanted BTS Lego since I first became a fan of the group so I’ve made quite a few MOCs (my own creations) of them,” said Jacob. “I wanted to combine my love for their music with my passion for Lego.”

BTS’s “Dynamite,” released in August 2020, is one of the global sensations’ biggest hits. Last year, it was named the fastest Korean group music video to reach a billion views.

Lego Ideas, meanwhile, is a space where fans can send their own creations and proposals to be selected as  part of the toymaker’s growing collection. – Franchesca Viernes/RC, GMA News
