Delivery rider leaves inspirational messages for customers
Apart from packages, this delivery rider makes sure to give his customers a reason to smile by bringing them inspirational messages as well.
As seen on Mark Salazar’s “24 Oras” report Monday, rider Arc Cabuello attaches handwritten notes to every parcel he drops off.
Although he is not the one composing the quotes, Arc makes sure to pick one that will make the reader feel a sense of hope amid challenges brought by the pandemic.
Among the many letters he already wrote read: “When life gives you a hundred reasons to break down and cry, show life that you have a million reasons to smile and laugh. Keep safe.”
Arc said he started this after noticing how unhappy people are in the homes he visited ever since he started delivering parcels.
“Naisip ko [na] ‘pag nabasa nila yung mga letters ko para sa kanila, kahit kaunti, mababawasan yung stress na nararamdaman nila,” he said.”
(I thought that if they read my letters for them, even just a little, their stress will be lessened.)
True to what he wants his customers to feel with his initiative, Arc said a lot really did feel enlightened after reading his inspirational message.
“Yung iba, tuwang-tuwa talaga. Hindi nila akalain na mabibigyan sila ng hindi nila kakilala tapos yung iba, first time daw nila makatanggap sa rider ng ganon tapos grabe kung magpasalamat,” he said.
(Some were really happy. They didn't expect to receive one from a stranger. Others, meanwhile, said it's their first time to receive one from a rider. They were thanking me a lot.)
Despite earning just less than P1,000 after working for 10 to 12 hours a day, Arc said he is still thankful to have a job amid the pandemic.
“Lahat naman tayo nahirapan sa pandemya kasi maraming nawalan ng trabaho pero kaming mga rider, kahit papano, blessed kami. May trabaho kami nung pandemya,” he said.
“Talagang dire-diretso pa rin yung pasok ng booking [at] deliveries kaya [okay] pa rin,” he added.
("Everyone had a hard time amid the pandemic because a lot lost their jobs but for us riders, we're blessed. We have a job amid the pandemic. The bookings and deliveries have been continuous so we're still okay.") — Franchesca Viernes/BM, GMA News
