Star City postpones Jan. 14 reopening amid rise in COVID-19 cases
Star City has decided to postpone its big reopening scheduled on January 14 as COVID-19 cases in the Philippines continue to rise.
According to an announcement posted Monday on their official Facebook page, the amusement park will announce a new reopening date “when the conditions are favorable for all.”
“While the current Alert level allows the operation of amusement parks, we feel that given the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the country, postponement is the more prudent thing to do,” the statement read.
The Philippines just reported a record-high 28,707 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday (January-19), bringing the country's total tally of active cases to more than 128,000.
Star City, a popular amusement park located in Pasay City, was closed last 2019 after a large fire.
