Feng shui expert says be mindful of dining room, kitchen to bring good luck in 2022
As New Year celebrations usually involve a large feast, Filipino families tend to spend a lot of time in the kitchen and dining area.
However, this is not the only reason why the family should pay close attention to these parts of the house.
According to feng shui consultant Johnson Chua on "Unang Hirit," the dining area is one of the most important areas of the house because it is associated with the "abundance" of a person's life.
"Kasi nandi-diyan yung kasaganahan ng buhay natin," he said.
"'Pag maganda 'yung dining area, maganda 'yung prosperity. Maganda 'yung lagi tayong may makakain."
Chua also said it's important to be mindful of one's kitchen setup because it could affect the flow of positive energy throughout the household.
"Kung tutuusin, sa lahat ng part ng bahay, ang kusina ang number one ana important na part ... because dito nangyayari ang money-making energy, ang health energy natin, at dito rin ang heart energy natin," he said.
"So kung ang kusina natin, medyo magulo, medyo disorganized, sometimes it can affect 'yung harmony problem," he added.
"And, syempre, kung masyado din siyang magulo, minsan 'yung flow ng pera medyo mabagal din maraming blockages."
During the live interview, Chua was asked to give advice on the home setup of a viewer who wanted to reel in some luck in 2022.
Apart from keeping the dining room clean and spacious, the Feng Shui expert suggested that she incorporate some of the lucky colors of the year by changing the table cloth or adding place mats.
Chua also suggested placing a 12-fruit display or other round-shaped ornaments at the center of the table instead of a flower arrangement.
After taking a look at her kitchen, Chua commended her for keeping her stove and sink separate without facing one another. "'Yun ang best na shape, L-shape," he said.
Lastly, he encouraged her to maintain the tidiness of her kitchen to keep the free flow of positive energy. – Margaret Claire Layug/RC, GMA News
