Ricky Lee to launch new book, 'Si Amapola' graphic novel on Tuesday
Highly acclaimed screenwriter, playwright, and novelist Ricky Lee is set to launch two books this week.
Through the University of Santo Tomas Publishing House's Facebook page, Lee will introduce "Servando Magdamag at Iba Pang Maiikling Kuwento" and graphic novel "Si Amapola" by Manix Abrera.
Joining the launch are celebrated artists John Arcilla, Christian Bables, Joem Bascon, Ketchup Eusebio, Agot Isidro, Sandino Martin, and Alden Richards who will each read an excerpt from the short stories.
Hosted by actor and director John "Sweet" Lapus, the online book launch is on December 14 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. For those interested, you may register through this link.

Lee, a legend in the Philippine TV and film industry, has penned over 180 scripts and is a recipient of more than 70 awards for his works.
Among his iconic creations include scripts for "Himala" (1982), "Salome" (1981), and "Brutal" (1980). He has also worked with esteemed directors such as Lino Brocka, Ishmael Bernal, and Marilou Diaz-Abaya.
Just this year, he conducted a 12-week workshop for GMA Public Affairs’ over two dozen writers.
