Gong Yoo goes on a deadly mission to the moon in 'The Silent Sea' trailer
Netflix has unveiled the main trailer for upcoming Gong-Yoo starrer "The Silent Sea."
The 2.5-minute reel sets the story in the near future, in which the Earth is threatened due to resource depletion.
An elite team goes on a special mission to the moon, specifically the Balhae Lunar Research Station, which was closed down five years ago due to an accident.
Gong Yoo plays the role of Han Yunjae, who leads the team comprised of astrobiologist Song Jian (Bae Doona), head engineer Ryu Taesuk (Lee Joon), team doctor Doc Hong (Kim Sun Young), head of security Gong Soohyuk (Lee Mu Saeng), and spacecraft pilot Kim Heesun (Lee Sung Wook).
However, their mission goes awry from the get-go as their spaceship makes a crash landing on the moon. The situation further worsens when they discover dead bodies with unknown causes of death.
"The Silent Sea" is Korea's first ever science fiction mystery thriller series.
Helmed by director Choi Hang Yong and written by Park Eun Kyo, it will premiere on December 24 on Netflix. —JCB, GMA News
