Justin Bieber is set to perform live as an avatar in his upcoming online concert this month.
Virtual entertainment company Wave released a 25-second trailer showing a virtual version of the Canadian singer performing his hit song “Peaches” in an animated set.
“Justin Bieber’s debut performance in the metaverse!” said the website of Wave.
According to a Variety report, the 45-minute free concert will give fans a “futuristic look into the metaverse, merging gaming, real time motion-capture, and live musical performance into an immersive interactive experience” and an “epic and intimate musical journey.”
The concert will feature Justin’s songs from his latest album “Justice,” including “Hold On” and “Ghost,” and serve as a kickoff for his 2022 Justice World Tour.
Apart from giving a whole new viewing experience for his fans, the Beliebers, the concert will also offer them the chance to interact with the singer through chat, virtual emojis, and their phone’s cameras.
The live interactive show will happen on Nov. 18 at 6 p.m. PST on Wave’s website, where fans can sign up as early as now. It will also be livestreamed on Justin’s YouTube channel.
A rebroadcast will also be available for viewers in Asia on Nov. 21. More details are available on Wave’s website. – RC, GMA News
