'Fruits Basket' is getting a film version with a prequel and epilogue

"Fruits Basket" is getting a film compilation!

According to the anime's official website, "Fruits Basket: Prelude" will include a prequel and epilogue that will show the events that happened after the series concluded.

The prequel will center on the backstory of Tohru's parents Kyoko and Katsuya.

"Fruits Basket," based on the manga by Natsuki Takaya, follows high school girl Tohru, who becomes involved in the family drama of the Somas. The Soma family carries a curse where some of its members turn into Zodiac animals when hugged by someone of the opposite sex.

It was first adapted into anime in 2001 but a reboot version was released in 2019. The second season was released in 2020, and the third and final season premiered this 2021. —JCB/GMA News
