Garrett Bolden, PMPC Pop Artist of the Year, thanks GMA for changing his life, recalls he ‘was ready to go back to zero’
After winning his second PMPC Star Award, Garrett Bolden is even more excited to continue his musical journey as a Kapuso.
In a virtual interview on Thursday, the Kapuso Soul Balladeer said his life changed after joining "The Clash" Season 1 in 2018.
The singer-songwriter from Olongapo City was one of the finalists in the competition, but he did not expect all the blessings that would later come his way.
"I was ready to go back to zero and start another journey, pero I was really blessed enough to be a part of the Kapuso network, and from then on I've been gradually going up," Garrett told GMA News Online.
"I'm really thankful [to] GMA for giving me the opportunity, and my life really changed," he added.
Garrett Bolden, now known as the "Kapuso Soul Balladeer," just won his second Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) Star Award for Male Pop Artist of the Year.
PMPC also named him "New Male Recording Artist of the Year" last year.
He regularly appears on GMA-7's weekend variety show "All Out Sundays."
His first self-written song "Our Love" has also been selected as the official theme song for Heart Evangelista and Richard Yap's upcoming drama "I Left My Heart in Sorsogon."
Garrett also revealed he was working on a new single which he planned to release very soon.
"I've been trying a lot to get into this business, and GMA gave me that chance, and GMA Music, as well, as my music label, so I'm really excited to see whats in store [for me] in the next few years, and the projects I could share with my fans and supporters ko and sa mga Kapuso natin," Garrett said.
