‘Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha’ producers ask viewers to stop visiting drama locations
As “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” continues to capture viewers’ hearts, photos of fans including Filipinos visiting the series’ filming locations have been circulating all over the internet.
According to a Soompi report, South Korean broadcast company tvN released on Tuesday a statement about fans going to the drama’s shooting locations in Pohang.
The network thanked the viewers for their love and support, but asked them to refrain from visiting the houses seen in the drama because these belonged to real people and were only rented out for the duration of the filming.
“We would like to thank our viewers for giving us so much love, and we would like to make one request regarding visits to our filming location,” it said.
“Hye Jin’s house, Doo Shik’s house, Gam Ri’s house, and Cho Hee’s house in the drama are spaces that we leased for filming purposes for the duration of our shoot, and at the moment, their owners are currently residing in those homes,” it added.
“They helped our drama out with good intentions, but they are currently suffering disturbances to their everyday lives because of visitors. For the reason described above, when you visit our filming location, we ask that you refrain from entering these houses.”
However, for those who wish to visit Pohang and feel like they’re in “Hometown-Cha-Cha-Cha,” the production team said the city would be keeping the squid statue at Cheongha Market and the boat at Sabang Memorial Park even after the end of filming.
“Once again, we thank you for giving your love to ‘Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha,’” it said.
“Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha,” which stars Kim Seon Ho and Shin Min Ah, revolves around city girl Hye Jin who moves to a seaside village and meets jack-of-all-trades handyman Du Sik. Although they’re complete opposites, the two find themselves inevitably pulled toward each other.
Directed by Yu Je Won, the series premiered in August. As of writing, “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” is the most viewed release on Netflix Philippines. – Kaela Malig/RC, GMA News
