Did you know that ‘I Guess I’m In Love’ singer Clinton Kane is half-Filipino?

“I Guess I’m In Love” has been topping charts worldwide and even making it to TikTok trends, but did you know that its singer and songwriter Clinton Kane is Filipino?

The 22-year-old singer, now based in Las Vegas, is born to a Filipino father and a Norwegian mother.

In an interview with GMA News Online Thursday, Clinton said he had been to the Philippines about five times and “loved it every single time.”

If he were to visit again in the near future, Clinton said he would love to go on tour.

“I definitely wanna go back and play a show because I think it’s fun,” he said.

“It would be the coolest thing in the world to just go back there, play a show, and run over there,” he added.

“Also, I think Filipino fans are crazy. Every single person would probably sing their heart out like no one is watching. It’s gonna be such a fun time.”

Clinton said he would also give his Filipino fans a treat—a new version of his hit song.

“We’re gonna have a big little party. I’m gonna sing ‘I Guess I’m In Love’ in Filipino. I’m gonna translate it and sing it in Filipino when I get there,” he said.

With his TikTok now having over a million followers, Clinton said he couldn’t help but feel grateful to Filipinos who had been expressing their love for him and his music.

“I genuinely love it, appreciate it. Most comments are like. ‘Oh my God, I didn’t know he was Filipino. I love you more now.’ I love it without a doubt,” he said.

Released in August, “I Guess I’m In Love” had so far been featured in over 85,000 videos by TikTok users for their loved ones.

As of Sept. 23, it is also the seventh song on Spotify Philippines’ Top 50 with around 189,000 plays.

On YouTube, its music video has garnered nearly four million views.

Clinton’s discography also includes “Chicken Tendies,” “Fix It To Break It,” and “Hopeless,” among other songs. – RC, GMA News
