'Game of Thrones' star Gwendoline Christie joins the cast of Tim Burton's 'Wednesday'


Gwendoline Christie has joined the cast of Netflix's upcoming series "Wednesday."

According to Netflix Geeked, the "Game of Thrones" star will play Larissa Weems, the principal of Nevermore Academy "who still has an axe to grind with her former classmate Morticia Addams."

 

 

 

Christie expressed her excitement in an Instagram post, saying she's  "overjoyed."

 

 

 

"Wednesday" is an upcoming Netflix live adaptation of the iconic Addams Family. It is set to mark Tim  Burton's television directorial debut.

The original “The Addams Family” follows an odd family who are seemingly unaware that people find them bizarre or frightening. The story revolves around husband and wife Gomez and Morticia Addams, their two children Wednesday and Pugsley, and their Uncle Fester.

Jenna Ortega will be playing the titular character, Wednesday, in the new show. Luis Guzman is set to play her father, Gomez and Catherine Zeta-Jones is set to play Morticia.

"Wednesday" is set to have eight episodes and will revolve around Wednesday Addams' years as a student at the peculiar Nevermore Academy. —JCB, GMA News
