Kim Seon Ho in talks to play half-Filipino aspiring boxer for his first film

Kim Seon Ho is in talks to play a Korean-Filipino who dreams of becoming a boxer for his first film.

Citing the "Start-Up" actor's agency Salt Entertainment, Soompi reported that Seon Ho is currently reviewing the offer for the movie whose title translates to "Sad Tropics."

Set to be directed by Park Hoon Jung, the story of "Sad Tropics" circles on a man who wants to be a boxer one day. He has a Korean father and a Filipino mother.

He then goes to Korea to find his father who abandoned him, meeting bad people and unfortunate events in the process.

"Sad Tropics" will be Seon Ho's first movie if he accepts the offer.

Seon Ho grew popular after starring in "Start-Up," a Netflix K-Drama about youth, business, and dreams. He played the second lead to Nam Joo Hyuk and Bae Suzy, but his "good boy" character won the hearts of many Filipinos fans.

He is currently starring alongside Shin Min Ah in the new Netflix series "Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha."
