Ronnie Henares shares hilarious edited photo of him as Spiderman villain Doctor Octopus
No, it's not just you who sees the uncanny resemblance between Ronnie Henares and British actor Alfred Molina, who portrays Spiderman villain Doctor Octopus.
Shortly after the teaser trailer for "Spider-Man: No Way Home" was released on Tuesday, the "Pepito Manaloto" actor shared a hilarious well-edited photo of him as the iconic villain.
And instead of the "Hello, Peter," the villain was seen saying, "Pepiter, my friend!" underneath his mug — an ode to Ronnie's "Pepito Manaloto" character Tommy, who is known for saying, "Pepito, my friend!"
Ronnie wrote, "Look what my son found on the net? Who do I thank for this? It’s ssooo cool!"
Netizens and celebrities alike couldn't help but cackle at the edited photo. Michael V, Ronnie's co-star in "Pepito Manaloto," replied, "Welcome to the MULTIVERSE!"
On the TV series, Ronnie played an annoying financial analyst who's always trying to take advantage of people, including Pepito, played by Michael V.
Multimedia artist Daniel Donor, the man behind the artwork, later shared with GMA News Online that he created the illustration with the idea that Tommy as Doctor Octopus was borrowing money from Pepito.
"Naisip ko 'yung karakter ni Sir Ronnie as Tommy kasi 'yung linya na 'Pepito, my friend!' changing it to 'Pepiter, my friend!' Parang 'yung idea na mangungutang si Mang Tommy kay Pepito [as] a Doc Octopus karakter," he said.
[I thought of Ronnie's character Tommy because of his line "Pepito, my friend!" and changing it to "Pepiter, my friend!" The idea was Tommy was borrowing money from Pepito as the Doctor Octopus character.]
Daniel said he made the edit, which he finished in under 30 minutes, because he thought it was fitting for Tommy.
"Talagang swak lang para sa 'kin 'yung eksena para kay Sir Ronnie as Tommy," he said.

The artist said he was a fan of "Pepito Manaloto" and he loved the lessons taught in each episode.
"Ang ganda lang ng karakter ni Mang Tommy sa serye na 'to. Talagang tumatak sa viewers yung iconic line niya na 'Pepito, my friend!'" he said.
