According to Variety, Megan filed a petition against her label 1501 Entertainment for allegedly preventing her for releasing a remix of "Butter," which topped the Billboard Hot 100 nine times since its release in May.
In the documents she submitted to a Texas court, Megan said her "art will be impacted, the release of the song derailed, and Pete's goodwill, reputation, and overall career will suffer detrimental, undesirable, and irreversible harm."
The documents added that Megan's and BTS's legal teams have "tried without success to work with 1501."
After news of the "Butter" remix being blocked made rounds online, it was then reported that a judge ruled in Megan's favor, clearing her to release the song.
Big Hit Music, BTS's label, confirmed the development by formally announcing the song in a statement on WeVerse.
"Butter (feat. Megan Thee Stallion) features the inimitable rap, signature sounds and ad-libbing of three-time Grammy Award-winner Megan Thee Stallion with the exceptional personality of BTS showcased in the original song to create an even richer experience for all listeners," it said.
Megan expressed her excitement on Twitter, saying, ""Y’all don’t even understand how excited I am."

This isn't the first time that Megan had a legal disagreement with her label. In March 2020, she filed a temporary restraining order against 1501 Entertainment, claiming that they prohibited her from releasing new music. —JCB, GMA News
