GMA Playlist to introduce fresh, relatable tunes for millennials, Gen Z

GMA Playlist is here and it looks promising as ever for music lovers out there!

On Wednesday’s virtual launch and contract signing, the new sub-label of GMA Music was described to “capture hearts of millennials and Generation Z fans who are craving for something hip and new.”

Songs that will be released are written by the network’s composers in collaboration with Kapuso artists including Mikee Quintos, Arra San Agustin, Anthony Rosaldo, and Crystal Paras.

“It just feels right producing and collaborating for my own single,” Mikee said. “We’re all for the best outcome. I have a good feeling that the songs will be mind-blowing and life-changing.”

Also in the lineup are Denise Barbacena, Faith Da Silva, Jennifer Maravilla, Kaloy Tingcungco, Kim De Leon, Lexi Gonzales, Shayne Sava, Mark Herras, and Seb Pajarillo.

According to First Vice President for GMA Post-Production Paul Ticzon, it’s a “dream come true” because GMA Playlist has long been in the works and they are very excited to share it with everyone.

“It’s just a gimmick before,” he said in a mix of English and Filipino. “We love music, we love creating it and it’s an honor to share this dream with you. Let’s make beautiful music together,” he added.

“Intention is to produce a different take on OPM for everyone’s playlist so we can really feature the creative prowess and talents of our artists.”

According to Senior Manager for Music Productions Section Racquel Gacho, the first single will be from Mikee and can be expected on the last week of August or first week of September. – RC, GMA News
