Kevin Santos earns commercial pilot license

Kevin Santos is now a commercial pilot!

On Aubrey Carampel’s “24 Oras” report Tuesday, the Kapuso actor said being able to fly a commercial plane was the fruit of his hard work.

“Every license is blood and sweat because the effort of studying and taking lots of exams is needed before you earn the commercial license,” he said in a mix of English and Filipino.

According to Kevin, a company has already hired him as one of their pilots. He said some people had already been calling him captain, which he wasn’t used to.

“When they call me, I can’t get used to it because ever since, people call me Kevin. I get shy when they refer to me as captain,” said the “Starstruck” graduate.

Being the first pilot in their family, Kevin said earning his license was definitely one of their “proud moments.” His parents even put the shoulder stripes on his pilot uniform.

He thanks his acting career for giving him the means to study at an aviation school. “We’re not rich, we have no money, so showbiz gave me a big and strong foundation to reach this.”

The actor plans to stay in the entertainment industry while also working as a pilot. He is currently part of GMA-7 shows “Daddy’s Gurl” and “Legal Wives.”

In March, Kevin graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. – Franchesca Viernes/RC, GMA News
