Imelda Staunton is the new Queen Elizabeth II on ‘The Crown’

Imelda Staunton is set to play Queen Elizabeth II on the last two seasons of “The Crown” on Netflix.

The show made the announcement Friday via social media. “An early glimpse of our new Queen Elizabeth II, Imelda Staunton,” it said.

She will take over the role after Emma Corrin, Olivia Colman, and Claire Foy.

The British actress is known for her character Dolores Umbridge on the Harry Potter film series. – RC, GMA News
