GOT7 member Jinyoung confirmed to join Kim Go Eun in new drama series
GOT7 member Jinyoung has been confirmed to join Kim Go Eun in the new drama series “Yumi’s Cells.”
According to a Soompi report on Thursday, the K-Pop idol will take on the role of Yoo Babi, the lead female’s popular and sweet co-worker who she gets entangled in a relationship with.
“My first time filming was a touching experience thanks to everyone who treated me comfortably on set. I conversed a lot with the director about my character Babi,” Jinyoung said.
“Studying my character diligently allowed me to naturally become a part of that space,” he added.
Based on the hit webtoon of the same name, “Yumi’s Cells” revolves around an office worker named Yumi whose story will be told from the point of view of her brain cells controlling her emotions.
“The King: Eternal Monarch” star Kim Go Eun, who was confirmed to act in the series last December, is set to play the titular role of Yumi.
Unfortunately, Yumi’s love cell fell into a coma after a failed relationship. As her other cells work hard to wake the love cell up, Goo Woong, played by Ahn Bo Hyun, enters her life. A game developer who doesn’t speak emotionally, Goo Woong will wake up Yumi’s love cell.
Directed by “Familiar Wife” director Lee Sang Yeob, and written by “Memories of the Alhambra” writer Song Jae Jung, “Find Me in Your Memory” writer Kim Yoon Joo, and Kim Kyung Ran, the new drama will also feature Lee Yoo Bi and Park Ji Hyun.
