Gloc-9 looks back on decision to stay in the Philippines, continue rapping career
Gloc-9 looked back on his decision to stay in the Philippines and continue his rapping career in the country.
Sharing a photo of his Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) ID on Facebook, the rapper said that he once thought he would not have a future with his talent.
"Before, I thought nothing would happen with my rapping. I just thought of going abroad so I applied as a service crew at Pizza Hut in Brunei," he wrote in Filipino.
"They said I needed a TIN number so I got one in Ermita after my medical checkup," he added.
According to Gloc-9, he was able to pass the final interview and was told that he will earn P23,000 with free accommodation and food.
"I was so happy so I immediately fixed my passport. I said to myself, 'Maybe this is where my luck is.' When I went to census, they told me that I have no record," he wrote.
"I need to find my original birth certificate at the hospital where I was born," he added.
With that incident, Gloc-9 said he suddenly realized that maybe he wasn't meant to go.
"Maybe that was a sign for me to continue. That's why until now, I'm still here, rapping and wondering why my hair is so thick on the ID," he said.
As of writing, Gloc-9's post has over 21,000 reactions, 600 comments, and 900 shares from fans and supporters.
Gloc-9, whose real name is Aristotle Condenuevo Pollisco, penned the hit songs "Sirena," "Upuan," "Hari ng Tondo," and "Simpleng Tao."
