This 16-year-old student is now a millionaire, thanks to her online business

A Filipino Grade 10 student has earned her first million at the age of 16.

How did she do it? By running her very own online business from home.

According to GMA-7's "Unang Hirit," Irish Oloris has been using her time wisely by balancing her schoolwork and selling beauty products on the internet.

The 16-year-old ended up making P1 million in a year, and now she has her very own property in Zambales!

Still, Irish continues to work hard to save up for college.

"One of my favorite quotes is 'Dream at a very young age' because there are no limits to dreams," the teen entrepreneur told UH in Filipino.

"Mas maganda na po 'yung mag-start ka nang maliit at mag-dream ka po nang malaki, para may (preparation) na rin po sa future," she added.

Apart from making money, Irish said she started her business to boost people's confidence amid the gloom of the COVID-19 pandemic.

She also takes inspiration from her mom, Irene, who showed her the ropes of running a business at an early age.

"Kailangan magkaroon sila ng proper mindset in terms of business," Irene said.

"Syempre at her age, 'yan 'yung tipong kinikilig-kilig muna sa mga crush, di ba? 'Dun muna sila mas nakaka-focus. Pero dahil nga sa nangyaring pandemic, nakita ko kasi 'yung mga kabataan ngayon na yung medyo anxiety, depression, so iniba ko yung focus niya at in-introduce ko sa kanya yung business," she added.

Irene also taught Irish the value of hard work, as well as the importance of helping others despite her success.

"(Sana) huwag niyang kakalimutan kung saan siya nagsimula, at uunahan lagi si God at 'yung laging pagtulong sa kapwa, kasi money follows na lang eh," the mom said.

[I hope she doesn't forget where she started, and gives importance to God and helping others because money just follows.]

"Kapag ang goal niya is to help other people through her business, 'yung money, talagang susunod at susunod."
