2 beneficiaries of Kapuso Foundation's 'Bike for Good' project now thriving with livelihoods

Two beneficiaries of the "Bike for Good" project launched by the GMA Kapuso Foundation last year are now thriving with their livelihoods.

A report on "24 Oras" on Friday showed Eva Aquino and Jose Espiritu five months after receiving their bicycles and bread products to sell back in December.

Both their families were victims of the flooding caused by Typhoon Ulysses. The pandemic also affected their income.

"The project helped in earning extra money to add for the household expenses since this pandemic, we can't work normally," Eva said in Filipino.

The Kapuso Foundation partnered with Universal Robina Corporation and Baker John to provide livelihood assistance for 30 beneficiaries.

Jose, meanwhile, now works as a bread vendor in the morning and a security guard at night. He was also able to put up a small grocery business.

"Hard work, perseverance, and sacrifice [is what we need] because nothing will happen if we don't work hard," he said.

The Kapuso Foundation is still accepting donations through bank deposits, Cebuana Lhuiller, and Pay Maya. Vouchers can also be bought from Shopee and Zalora.
