'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' final season to premiere on August 12


Buckle up, folks — "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" is heading out in a blaze of glory this coming August.

The show just announced that its eight and final season is premiering on August 12 on NBC, promising that it will be "epic."

"We're going out with a bang and a little bit of a mic drop," actress Melissa Fumero said in the promotion video.

 

 

 

Executive producer Dan Goor announced that Season 8 will be the show's finale back in February.

"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" revolves around the hilarious shenanigans inside a police station in Brooklyn. The well-loved characters include Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg), Amy Santiago (Melissa Fumero), Captain Raymond Holt (Andre Braugher), Rosa Diaz (Stephanie Beatriz), Terry Jeffords (Terry Crews), Amy Santiago (Melissa Fumero), Charles Boyle (Joe Lo Truglio), as Gina Linetti (Chelsea Peretti), Michael Hitchcock (Dirk Blocker), and Norm Scully (Joel McKinnon Miller).

It first aired on FOX in 2013 before getting canceled after five season. After the cancellation garnered a strong reaction from fans online, the series was rescued by NBC, where it started airing in 2019. —JCB, GMA News
