Ben&Ben reveals new song 'Magpahinga' was written after member's sister tested positive for COVID-19

Ben&Ben revealed their upcoming song "Magpahinga" was written after a sister of the vocalists tested positive with the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

In a Facebook post on Wednesday, Paolo Benjamin shared the song was written more than a month ago, during "one of the toughest times" for his family.

"It was one of the toughest times for our family. In the middle of these dark days, in the middle of these battles we silently fight, may we remember that it's okay to rest," Paolo wrote.

He added, "Thankfully our sister recovered, but there are so many out there who aren't as fortunate, and many likewise are enduring the heaviest of days right now. This song is for all of you. Magpahinga ka muna (Please rest first)."

In an earlier post, Ben&Ben, known for their hit songs "Kathang Isip" and "Pagtingin," released a clip of "Magpahinga," with lyrics dedicated not to those carrying broken hearts, but rather weary souls. — Kaela Malig/LA, GMA News
