‘Voltes V: Legacy’ director Mark Reyes marks ‘Voltes V Day’ with peek on show’s preparations
It’s a special day for the “Voltes V: Legacy” team and director Mark Reyes, who has shared a sneak peek on his preparations for the live-action series.
On Wednesday, the director posted a photo of his desk and his computer screen, where a scene featuring Prince Zardoz or Heinel from the original animated series could be seen.
“Happy Voltes V Day! It was back in May 5, 1978, that [Voltes V] premiered here in the Philippines,” wrote Mark, saying it aired in Japan on June 4, 1977.
“The story behind the photo is me working on the [Voltes V: Legacy] scripts to be shot soon,” he said.
The director said he used the official “Voltes V” documentary book from Telesuccess Productions as reference material, as well as the animated series’ English subtitles.
In another Instagram post, Mark said he would reveal more updates on Nelson Canlas’ “24 Oras” report.
“I will give you updates on what’s been going on with the production and other timelines and hopefully we can share some new photos of work in progress sets and costumes,” he said.
On Monday, the director gave a black-and-white glimpse into the Camp Big Falcon set.
In April, the director shared a photo of cast members Miguel Tanfelix, Ysabel Ortega, Radson Flores, and Matt Lozano as they prepared for their roles.
Miguel will play Steve Armstrong, the team leader of the crew and pilot of Volt Cruiser, which transforms into Voltes V’s head.
Matt and child actor Raphael Landicho will play his brothers Big Bert and Little Jon, the pilots of the Volt Panzer (body) and the Volt Frigate (legs).
Ysabel and Radson, meanwhile, will portray Jamie Robinson and Mark Gordon, the pilots of the Volt Lander (feet) and Volt Bomber (arm).
Prince Zardoz, the leader of Boazania who wishes to conquer Earth, will be played by Martin del Rosario.
A teaser for the highly anticipated series that was released in January had reached more than a million views on YouTube.
