Here's the cast for the Korean adaptation of 'Money Heist'
We finally get to picture who the mastermind Professor and explosive Tokyo will be in the upcoming Korean adaptation of "Money Heist."
In a press release on Wednesday, Netflix announced the official cast for the Korean adaptation of its hit Spanish series "La Casa de Papel," also known as "Money Heist."
The adaptation is set to feature "The Swindlers" actor Yoo Ji Tae as the "Professor," "Seven Days" actress Kim Yun Jin as the inspector, and Jeon Jong Seo as "Tokyo."
Meanwhile, Park Hae Soo will play as "Berlin," Kim Ji Hun as "Denver," Jang Yoon Ju as "Nairobi," Park Jung Woo as "Rio," Lee Won Jong as "Moscow," Kim Ji Hun as "Helsinki," and Lee Kyu Ho as "Oslo."
Set on the Korean peninsula, the adaptation will have 12 episodes and will center around the Professor who recruits the gang to go through the heist.
Directed by Kim Hong Sun, the series will be launched globally on the streaming platform. A release date is yet to be revealed.
The Korean adaptation of "Money Heist" was first announced in December after the Spanish series took the world by storm.
Since its premiere in 2017, "Money Heist" has gained popularity all over the world. Some have dressed up as the gang members, while riots against people in power have used "Bella Ciao," an Italian protest song that entered mainstream media thanks to "Money Heist."
According to Netflix, more than 65 million member households tuned in to watch Part 4 of the Spanish series in the first four weeks of its release in April last year. —Kaela Malig/MGP, GMA News
