Blackpink's Rosé thought she wouldn't pass YG Entertainment's audition

Blackpink member Rosé has revealed that she thought she wouldn’t make it when she auditioned at YG Entertainment.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, the South Korean Idol recalled how her screening went.

According to Rosé, her father encouraged her to try it out since he noticed her love for music and he didn’t want her to regret it in the end.

“I’m probably not gonna get in but I don’t know why I’m here,” she recalled thinking as she sat at the audition room.

“I did my thing and I was like, ‘I’m just gonna try and enjoy it since I’m probably not gonna get in,’” she said.

“‘I’m just gonna try and remember this moment and get memories out of it’ and then I left then got a call and I was like, ‘that’s very odd.’”

In the video, she also told the story of her first encounters with fellow Blackpink members Jennie, Lisa, and Jisoo.

Rosé recently released her first solo album “R,” which features the song “On The Ground.”

With “On The Ground,” she became the first female K-pop solo artist to land on United Kingdom’s official singles chart.

On Tuesday, the singer also became the highest ranking female K-pop solo artist on Billboard Hot 100.

Rosé is the second member of Blackpink to have her own music after Jennie released “Solo” in 2018.
