5 things in 'DOTA: Dragon's Blood' that Pinoy fans won't wanna miss

Good news, DOTA 2 fans: You'll be able to watch "DOTA: Dragon's Blood" on Netflix in less than 24 hours.

The new eight-episode animated series premiering this March 25 follows Davion the Dragon Knight as he encounters a powerful, ancient Eldwurm and accompanies an exiled princess on a perilous mission.

GMA News Online got a chance to talk to the show's executive producer Ashley Miller, and he listed five things that fans of the video game should be excited about:

1. The characters in action

"Overall I think they’ll love the action and how we bring these characters into the story," the showrunner told GMA News Online.

"DOTA: Dragon’s Blood" was created by Studio MIR in collaboration with Valve, which developed the beloved video game franchise.

Miller, who helped bring us films like "X-Men: First Class" and "Thor," said the team paid close attention to the elements that make up the DOTA universe.

"The most important thing to me always is character. Beyond that, staying grounded," he said.

"The ideas in this world are so huge we honor them best by making the people feel real and everything around them feel lived in and possible on their own terms," he added.

2. Davion and Slyrak's relationship

"DOTA: Dragon’s Blood" will show fans the complicated relationship between Davion the Dragon Knight and the ancient and powerful eldwyrm from whom he comes to draw great power.

"I think they’ll love how Slyrak is introduced, and how we handle his relationship with Davion," Miller said.

3. Princess Mirana's 'terrific' moment

Princess Mirana is one of the heroes you'll get to know in the anime, and she's depicted as a fearless and dutiful warrior with a very important goal.

Miller thinks fans will not want to miss one "terrific" moment of Mirana's in particular, and it goes down when she finds herself in a cave.

4. Terrorblade

Another hero coming to life in "Dragon's Blood" is Terrorblade, who is popular in the arena.

The series will give DOTA 2 fans an exciting taste of just the demon's dark intentions and abilities.

5. Marci

Many players are familiar with Mirana's mount, Sagan, but in  "Dragon's Blood," the princess is also accompanied by a mysterious new character named Marci.

The right hand woman may have a sweet and gentle exterior, but she's more powerful than you think.

"She’s just awesome, and the moment when she reveals how awesome she can be is one of my favorite things," Miller said.

Miller also gave a message to all the DOTA 2 fans in the Philippines who will be seeing the anime very soon.

"If you love the game, I think you’ll find a lot to love about the show. We worked very hard to build on what was there and honor it while creating what I think is a very adult, emotional story," he said.
