Benjamin Alves channels this K-drama doctor in his portrayal of Doc Migs in 'Owe My Love'

Benjamin Alves pegged his portrayal of Doc Migs in "Owe My Love" from a doctor in a hit Korean drama.

In Cata Tibayan's report on "24 Oras," the Kapuso actor said he was inspired by Dr. Kang Dong-Joo from "Dr. Romantic 2."

Benjamin shared that it was his co-star, Lovi Poe, who recommended Dr. Kang Dong-Joo to him.

"They're very idealistic and they stand by their principles," he said about the similarities between Dr. Kang and Doc Migs.

He added that they are both young and still learning.

Benjamin also said that he is dedicating his role to the healthcare workers for their sacrifices the past year.

"Gusto ko lang po magpasalamat sa kanila kasi almost one year na silang on the frontlines in this pandemic that we’re going through," he said.

("I want to thank them because they have been on the frontlines for almost a year now in this pandemic that we're going through.")

"Sana po bilang Doc Migs, nakikita n'yo po 'yung passion na matulungan 'yung mga Pilipino. Sana po 'yon yung makita n'yo sa character ko at sa buong medical staff ng Centimos Medical Hospital," he added.

("I hope the viewers see their passion to help Filipinos through Doc Migs and the medical staff of Centimos Medical Hospital.")
