This fan spent half a million pesos for her K-pop merchandise collection
How would you spend half a million pesos?
For one K-pop fan, she'll use it to show her support for her idols, of course!
In an "IRL" episode, Elaine Ordero showed her P500,000 worth of collection which took a decade to complete.
She started in 2011 when she chanced upon the "Genie" music video of K-pop group Girl's Generation.
"Nagustuhan ko agad 'yung concept nila ta's nine sila sa grupo pero sabay-sabay sila. Na-amaze ako sa choreography nila pati sa mga kanta," she said.
Elaine used to save her allowances in high school so she can buy merchandise and now that she's earning, she's more capable of adding more to her collection.
Her most expensive purchase was a watch inspired by Girl's Generation, which costs almost P8,000 each.
"Hindi kayang tumbasan ng pera 'yung ligaya or happiness na nararamdaman ko every time nagkakaroon ako ng merchandise," she said.
Aside from collecting K-pop items, she also makes sure to personally support her idols by attending their concerts.
The dedication she puts in being a fan not only makes her happy, but also allows her to boost her confidence.
"'Di ako confident sa sarili ko tapos mahiyain ako ta's 'di ako masyadong talkative pero when it comes to Kpop, do'n ako nagiging madaldal. Parang nalalabas 'yung galing ko," she said. —Franchesca Viernes/MGP, GMA News
