‘Love Alarm’ to deliver ‘mature romance’ in season 2

The second season of “Love Alarm” is set to give its viewers an even more mature take on love and dealing with relationships.

In an online press conference on Monday, Director Kim Jin-Woo shared what fans can expect for the sequel.

“The goal of season two was to tell the stories we couldn’t in season one. You can expect a more mature romance. That would be the highlight of this season,” he said.

With the application’s new version of now being able to identify potential love lives, the story will further show how the characters come up with their choices in life.

“I wanted to portray how and what kind of decisions these characters will make. I wanted to portray the process while being as loyal as possible to each character’s personality,” he said.

In line with the app’s upgrade is also the characters’ growth in facing each of their struggles.

“The [update] would definitely be a defining factor that will lead to many different stories that will allow for a lot of stories with twists and turns,” Kim So-hyun as Kim Jojo said.

“We had to show that we were friends but also caught in a love triangle. That was the most difficult part of playing the role,” Song Kang, playing the role of Hwang Sun-Oh, added.

As an actress, lead star Kim So Hyun stated that Kim Jojo’s problems helped her to be more responsible.

“Jojo was put into a position where she had to make a difficult decision and she has to also meet the consequences and be responsible for the choices she makes,” she said.

“I was reminded of the consequences that follow your decisions in life,” she added.

The second season is set to premiere on Netflix on March 12. With this, the cast are looking forward to everyone’s support.

“The chemistry between [us] is going to be stronger this time so we will be giving you a more exciting show. I hope you look forward to it,” Kim So Hyun said.

“It’s just as fun and exciting and it’s going to be different in a way so I hope you love the new series,” Song Kang added.

“Love Alarm” is a romance drama set in an alternate world wherein an application alerts people if someone within a 10-meter radius likes them.
