BTS members Jimin, V trend as fans celebrate idols’ university graduation

BTS members Jimin and V trended on social media Thursday after fans learned that they have graduated from university.

An announcement by Global Cyber University (GCU), a higher education institution based in South Korea, listed Jimin (Park Ji-min) and V (Kim Tae-hyung) among its 2020 graduates.

It also said that the BTS members, who finished a broadcasting and entertainment course, received the university’s President’s Award.

According to a Soompi report, Jimin and V graduated in August 2020.

Following the updates, hashtags pertaining to the members, such as #CongratulationsTaehyung and #ProudofYouJimin, dominated Philippine Twitter trends as BTS fans known as “Army” celebrated their idols’ latest achievement.

Last July, it was reported that BTS members RM, Suga, and J-Hope enrolled at Hanyang Cyber University’s masters of business administration (MBA) program in advertising and media in March 2019.

The report also said Jimin and V would be taking the same course at the online school starting September 2020.

Jin, meanwhile, had been enrolled at the university since 2017, while Jung Kook had been finishing his broadcasting and entertainment course at GCU. – Margaret Claire Layug/RC, GMA News
