Martin del Rosario is Prince Zardoz, Liezel Lopez is Zandra on ‘Voltes V: Legacy’

The actors who will play the villains Prince Zardoz and Zandra on “Voltes V: Legacy” have been revealed!

On Friday, “24 Oras” reported that Martin del Rosario will play Prince Zardoz, the leader of Boazania who wishes to conquer Earth. 

“’Yung nakuha ko ’to, siyempre ’yung puso kumabog talaga ng kumabog ng malakas kasi alam ko kung gaano kalaki itong project na ito,” said Martin. 

The actor said he had played many characters, but he considered Prince Zardoz his biggest break.

Martin said he prepared for both the physical and mental aspects of the role. 

“Kasi si Zardoz very confident, powerful, basta ang taas ng tingin niya sa sarili niya. So malaki ’yung magagawa ng maganda ’yung physique ko, para mas madali mapasok ’yung sarili ko sa character,” he said.

Liezel Lopez, meanwhile, will portray Zandra, Zardoz’s unrequited lover and the most cunning woman in Boazania.

“Noong nag-audition ako, hindi siya ’yung usual kontrabida ... I focused on the love for Zardoz,” said Liezel.

“And I think maybe that is the reason kung bakit ako ’yung napili.” 

To prepare for her role, which involves fight scenes, the “Starstuck” season 6 avenger trained on sword fighting, boxing, and arnis. 

Martin and Liezel will join Miguel Tanfelix, Ysabel Ortega, Radson Flores, Matt Lozano, and Raphael Landicho on the highly-anticipated live-action adaptation of the hit Japanese anime series.

Directed by Mark Reyes, “Voltes V: Legacy” will soon air on GMA. – RC, GMA News
