How to make your own prosperity basket for Chinese New Year

2021 is the year of the Metal Ox.

According to Feng Shui consultant Johnson Chua, building a "prosperity basket" at home can help folks reel in more blessings.

"Meron tayong kasabihan na kapag naglagay tayo ng prosperity basket, tapos nandi-diyan na lahat ng mga items ang mga charms natin mga bigas or pera so  that means also na sa tawid ng ating taon, lahat ng iyon maaattract natin papasok natin sa buhay natin," Chua explained on Thursday's "Unang Hirit."

The Feng Shui expert also shared an easy step-by-step guide on how to build your own prosperity basket.

According to Chua, the first thing you should do is make sure that you use a clean bowl for the basket. You should also make sure any holes in its base are patched up with tape.

Next, fill three-fourths of the bowl with rice.

"Kung tutuusin ang bowl is just a representation pero, siyempre, the bigger the bowl, the better kasi the more bigas, the more blessings," Chua said.

He then listed all the charms you'll need to place inside the basket to symbolize the endless flow of blessings.

These include eight lucky pepper charms, a Wu Lou charm, a protector/disaster coin, a double happiness amulet with red knot, ingots charms with coin, a luck transforming fan and an ampao with P888 inside.
