Filipino is one of the languages spoken in South Korean film 'Space Sweepers'
Pinoys who have watched "Space Sweepers" might have been startled to hear Filipino sentences uttered a few times in the film.
Heralded as South Korea's first sci-fi blockbuster, the movie starred none other than "Descendants of the Sun" actor Song Joong-ki, and it just premiered on Netflix last February 5.
And while the cast is dominated by Korean actors, the film is not set in Korea, or even Earth — it's set in space, where humans from many different countries interact with each other with the help of a portable translator.
And yes, among the languages spoken by random characters in the film is Filipino! The language could be heard at least twice during the two-hour movie.

Set in 2092, "Space Sweepers" follows a band of misfits as they struggle to survive in a universe where the Earth had become a wasteland.
After successfully snatching a crashed space shuttle in the latest debris chase, the crew of spaceship Victory find a 7-year-old girl inside. They realize that she’s the humanlike robot wanted by UTS Space Guards, and decide to demand ransom in exchange.
