Lola holds drive-thru birthday party amid pandemic

Nothing can stop this lola from celebrating her special day—even the ongoing health crisis.

According to Oscar Oida’s “24 Oras” report Thursday, George Cariño thought of doing a drive-thru birthday party for his mother to make her happy while still observing health protocols.

“The pandemic should not stop (us from) celebrating. [Nakita] ko tuwang-tuwa yung nanay ko,” he said.

“Lubos po na kasiyahan ang nadama ko nung panahon na ’yon sa drive-thru birthday celebration na naisip gawin ng pamilya ko,” said his mother, Fely, who turned 80.

During the celebration, guests greeted Lola Fely through placards and received the packed meals safely prepared for them on their way out.

The party was held on Jan. 6 in Pampanga and, thankfully, no one was reported to have gotten sick.
