Song Joong Ki goes through epic space battle in 'Space Sweepers' trailer

Netflix just released the trailer of Korean sci-fi film "Space Sweepers," and it's so hype!

Starring "Descendants of the Sun" actor Song Joong Ki, the film is set in the year 2092 when the Earth is no longer a habitable planet.

He plays the role of Tae Ho, a genius space pilot who leads a team of misfits while scavenging through outer space, which is now full of debris from all the space travel.

His crew includes ex-space pirate Captain Jang (Kim Tae Ri), a spaceship engineer Tiger Park (Jin Sun Kyu), and a reprogrammed military robot named Bubs (Yoo Hai Jin).

The trailer shows their adventures trying to make money out of selling space junk, but their journey hits an interesting turn when they find a humanlike robot that may or may not bring mass destruction.

Directed by Jo Sung Hee, the film is set to premiere on February 5 on Netflix. —Kaela Malig/MGP, GMA News
