Tom Holland's thriller 'Cherry' finally drops movie trailer
After playing the fun-loving, friendly neighborhood “Spider-Man,” Tom Holland is taking on the role of a drug-addicted bank robber in “Cherry.”
The upcoming crime-thriller, set to hit theaters on February 26, centers on a young Iraq war veteran who is forced to rob banks while struggling with PTSD and drug addiction.
AppleTV just released the official trailer, which would explain Holland’s cryptic tweet that asked fans to save the date for January 14, 2021.
Tom also dropped a series of exciting new production stills that gave fans a first look at his troubled character.
“Cherry” is directed by the Russo brothers who’ve previously worked with Holland in “Captain America: Civil War” and the two most recent “Avengers” movies, where the actor played Peter Parker a.k.a. Spiderman.
The cast includes Ciara Bravo, Jack Reynor, Kelli Burglund, Jack Reynor, Forrest Goodluck, Jeff Wahlberg, Michael Gandolfini, Kyle Harvey and Thomas Lennon.
Holland’s upcoming films also include a third “Spider-Man” movie and “Uncharted,” an action-packed adventure based on the popular video game series of the same name. —Margaret Claire Layug/JCB, GMA News
