1. It's inspired by one of France’s well-loved pop culture characters
Arsène Lupin is a fictional character created by French writer Maurice Leblanc. Lupin is a gentleman thief and master of disguise. The Netflix original series follows the story of a man inspired by Lupin who sets out to avenge his father for an injustice inflicted by a wealthy family.
As a teenager, Assane Diop’s life was turned upside down when his father died after being accused of a crime he didn’t commit. 25 years later, Assane will use “Arsène Lupin, Gentleman Burglar” as his inspiration to avenge his father. LUPIN’s intriguing story arc and action will hook fans of fast-paced dramas like Money Heist and Bodyguard.
2. Omar Sy is simply impressionnant!
French actor Omar Sy is a big name in France. He starred in The Intouchables, a comedy-drama that won many awards in France including the César Award for Best Actor for Omar. He also appeared in X-Men: Days of Future Past and Jurassic World.

The series is produced by the oldest film company in the world, Gaumont Télévision (Isabelle Degeorges, Nathan Franck). Formed in France in 1895, Gaumont is the oldest film company in the world, with offices in Paris, Los Angeles, London, Berlin, and Buenos Aires.
