Scarlet Snow Belo, parents Vicki and Hayden Kho adopt a baby rhino in Africa


Scarlet Snow Belo and her parents Vicki and Hayden Kho have adopted a baby rhino during their trip in Africa.

On Scarlet's Instagram account, photos of herself with rhino were posted.

"Guess what, peoples! We’re adoptIng a younger brother for me. Do you want to know who he is? He’s a baby rhinoceros!" Scarlet wrote in the caption of her post.

"He’s a baby cousin of the 4yo rhino you see here. He needs our love and protection because poachers killed his parents to get their horns," the young influencer added.

According to the post, Vicki and Hayden have "agreed that our family will adopt him" and after calling her kuya Quark, Scarlet said on her post that they plan to call him Plasty, the Belo Rhino.

"The money will make sure he has veterinarians and rhino rangers from @lewa_wildlife who will make sure Plasty is safe and healthy. #NewEarthClub," she added.

Sharing GMA News' story about Plasty on Twitter, film maker Quark Henares said "For the record, I thought of this awesome name."

 

 

Speaking to GMA News Online, Quark narrated how Scarlet called him up during the New Year to share the good news.

"She called nung New Year and said, 'we're adopting a rhino! What should we call it? Belorhino?'" Quark shared.

"And I said, 'you know what you should call the rhino?!' And then [my wife] Bianca and I said 'Plastyyyyy' at the same time," the filmmaker narrated, laughing.

During their trip to Africa, Scarlet also made new friend, six-year-old Poppy who is half-British and half-American, but was born in Kenya.

"We together are forming a junior conservation club to protect animals, but we don’t have a name yet. Help!" the caption of the post of the two of them posing in photos together.

At the latter part of the post, Scarlet updated her followers with their club name "*We have chosen a name– The New Earth Heroes!”

Scarlet, Vicki, and Hayden spent the New Year in Africa exploring wildlife animals.
