Quiapo Church holds several Masses before New Year to avoid crowds
Quiapo Church held several Masses a day before the New Year to avoid crowding and promote social distancing.
According to Saleema Refran’s report on “24 Oras” Thursday, the church held the Misa Novenario to minimize the number of devotees attending all at once.
Aside from these, health protocols were also implemented to avoid the spread of the coronavirus.
“Wag tayo matakot ... disiplina natin dapat pairalin para sa ganoon mas umiral ang hinahangad natin sa 2021 na kapayapaan,” said Quiapo Church’s Fr. Douglas Badong.
“Ang deboto hindi spreader ng virus. Ang deboto spreader ng Good News which is ang Good News ’yung ’wag matakot. Nandiyan ang buong Nazareno.”
Meanwhile, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno reached out to the public to continue practicing health protocols even during the holidays.
“Lagay natin sa isipan na 3,000 higit pa sa Metro Manila na active cases and I think even Jesus, for that matter, sasabihin satin na ay kailangan na mahalin natin sarili natin, mahalin kapwa natin,” he said.
