Ed Sheeran drops new single 'Afterglow'

Christmas came early for Ed Sheeran fans!

On Monday, the British singer-songwriter just dropped a surprise single called "Afterglow."

The also came with an official performance video, where Sheeran can be seen playing the guitar outdoors under a gray sky.

"Hey guys. Afterglow is a song I wrote last year that I wanted to release for you. It's not the first single from the next album, it's just a song I love, and hope you love too. Enjoy!" he wrote on Facebook.

"Have a safe and happy festive break and New Year's. Back to dad land for me now, ciao," he added.

Sheeran recently came a girl dad, after his wife Cherry Seaborn gave birth to their daughter, Lyra Antarctica, in September.
