Here are the Filipino stories tagged as 'most popular' on Netflix this 2020


More and more Filipino films have entered the Netflix scene this 2020, becoming more popular and reaching more audience worldwide.

According to the streaming giant, Paolo Contis and Alessandra De Rossi's "Through Night and Day" is the most popular Filipino title on the platform this year.

Other Filipino romantic films that also spread kilig vibes all over the Netflix audience include "The Hows of Us," "Exes Baggage," and "Love the Way U Lie."

Meanwhile, another one of Paolo's films, "Ang Pangarap Kong Holdap," has been this time as the most popular comedy in 2020.

Other comedies that made Pinoys laugh on the platform include "Jowable," "Jo Koy: In His Elements," "Lola Igna," and "ABNKKBSNPLAko?!," and "Fantastica."

"Ordinary People," which is based on a true-to-life story of Jane and Aries  (played by Hasmine Kilip and Ronwaldo Martin), has also become one of the most popular Filipino titles on Netflix.

New Pinoy Netflix Films adding to the growing list that have captured the attention of the audience also include Enchong Dee and Jasmine Curtis-Smith's "Alter Me" and Sue Ramirez's Moroccan adventure "Finding Agnes."

Filipinos have also delved into creating stories through anime with locally made titles include "Barangay 143" and "Hayop Ka! The Nimfa Dimaano Story."

More Filipino shows will be coming to Netflix this December including Maine Mendoza and Carlo Aquino's "Isa Pa With Feelings" on Christmas Day and Pinoy BL series "Gameboys Level-Up Edition" on December 30. —Jannielyn Bigtas/MGP, GMA News
