Hyeri to star in a new K-drama with Jang Ki-yong in 2021

“Reply 1988” star Lee Hye-ri is set to star in a new K-drama with Jang Ki-yong, according to a report by Soompi.

On Thursday, the report said it was revealed that both actors were confirmed to star in a new drama titled “Frightening Cohabitation.”

It said the drama was based on a webtoon that follows a female college student named Lee Dam (Hyeri) who accidentally swallows the marble of a male gumiho or a mythological nine-tailed fox named Shin Woo-yeo (Ki-yong).

The gumiho is close to achieving his goal of becoming human, but because his marble is with another being, it will start disintegrating, preventing his full transformation and giving him only a year to live. The two live together where they build an unexpected romance.

Ki-yong is known for his roles on “Search: WWW” and “Born Again.”

The upcoming K-drama will be written by Baek Sun-woo and Choi Bo-rim, who also penned the webtoon-turned-drama “What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim.”
