'Tom and Jerry' is getting a movie in 2021
Tom and Jerry are taking their decades-old cat-and-mouse chase to the big screen!
Warner Bros. Pictures just released the trailer for an upcoming “Tom and Jerry” movie starring Chloë Grace Moretz, Michael Peña, Rob Delaney, Colin Jost and Ken Jeong.
The classic cartoon’s beloved rivalry is going to be reignited when Jerry moves into New York City’s finest hotel on the eve of “the wedding of the century,” forcing the event’s desperate planner to hire Tom to get rid of him.
“Tom and Jerry” is going to be a mix of classic animation and live action, directed by “The LEGO movie 2” creator Tim Story.
The film is coming to theaters in 2021, after about 80 years of the cat-and-mouse duo trying to kill each other.
News of the “Tom and Jerry” movie comes a few months after the death of the original cartoon’s director Gene Deitch in April. —Margaret Claire Layug/JCB, GMA News
